What a school board member
can actually do - and what I plan to keep doing.

Most people don’t realize that school board members aren’t responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a district. We don’t hire every employee, we don’t choose specific books or lesson plans, and we don’t run the schools. That’s the job of the experts in education – our teachers, staff, and administrators.

What we do is set direction, ask questions, create policy, and make sure the community’s voice is part of the decision-making process. We work to ensure the district is managed well - not by micromanaging, but by staying focused on what matters most: students.

Looking ahead, I’m committed to continuing the work that board members are supposed to do - and doing it well.
