From volunteer to
school board president,
a commitment that grew.

When my family moved to Milford 12 years ago, we were drawn to the schools – but we quickly fell in love with the whole community. As a mom of two boys in Milford Public Schools, I started like so many parents do: volunteering at school, running PTA events, designing the yearbook, leading Scouts, and cheering kids on as a running coach. I was lucky to have a flexible job in branding and design that allowed me to give back. And the more I gave, the more I realized just how much our schools matter — not just for students, but for our entire community.

In 2021, I made the decision to run for school board because I knew I had more to offer. With a background in creative problem-solving and communication, I was used to listening closely, considering different perspectives, and building solutions that worked. I believed – and still do – that every child in Milford deserves a high-quality education, and that students should be at the center of every decision we make.

At the time, our district was facing challenges: widening equity gaps, post-pandemic learning loss, and a growing sense of distrust in public education. I ran because I believed Milford could meet those challenges — not by chasing division, but by strengthening connection. And I’ve been committed to doing just that ever since.
